[seedig] IMPORTANT - Extension of the partial elections 2019/2020

Dear SEEDIG Community,

On behalf of the SEEDIG Election Committee, I am pleased to inform you that *we
have one nomination* for the partial elections for the SEEDIG Executive
Committee. ElCom reviewed and decided that *it meets the eligibility
criteria* according to 6.12, ToR. The candidate accepted the nomination,
and *submitted* the candidate and transparency statement. You can find
details on SEEDIG website <https://seedig.net/partial-elections/#call>.

Also, according to the ToR <https://seedig.net/terms-of-reference-tor/>,
6.13. the ElCom *has decided to extend the deadline for nominations:*

6.13. The nomination period shall last for a minimum of two weeks. In
exceptional cases, such as, but not limited to, situations when the number
of eligible candidates is lower than the number of available seats, or
there are no candidates from a specific stakeholder group, the election
committee may, at its sole discretion, extend the nomination period.


To be as much as *transparent* possible: Our decision to use our discretion
right is based on *two factors*:

1. The partial election period was exactly during the Holiday season which
may prevent somebody to engage.

2. Due to extraordinary situation that SEEDIG is facing and especially
taking into consideration of the calls to diminish the process which may
have influenced to create a confusion and discourage people to apply or to
nominate someone.

Therefore, Members of the SEEDIG community can nominate themselves or other
members for the three seats available on the Executive Committee, by
submitting the nomination form available at

The nomination period is extended between 21 January 2020 and 04 February
2020, respecting the minimum period of two weeks for nomination, as a right
given by the ToR.
