Dear Sorina,
True, many people are eager to see each other and discuss the issues of
common interest. Yet the global situation with COVID19 and restrictions on
travel may prevent people from travelling to Trieste in June for EuroDIG
and have face-to face discussions about SEEDIG-related matters.
The online format of EuroDIG may become a compelling necessity and a good
opportunity to test the potential of new technologies in running such big
and impactful meetings online.
I have two proposals in this respect:
1. To merge SEEDIG and EuroDIG Programs (for this year) and held two
subsequent EuroDIG-SEEDIG meetings one after the other, similarly as the
1st SEEDIG and 8th EuroDIG were organized successfully in 2015 in Sofia,
Bulgaria.
2. To have a full online meeting(s) on 10-12 of June, 2020 and a
face-to-face meeting(s) in September 22-23, 2020.
Thank you for consideration,
Also using this opportunity, would like to congratulate Sonia, Sarah and
Olga with becoming new ExeCom members for 2020-2022.
Regards,
Narine
