Dear all,
Anyone for the riddle: this executive committee is very strange kind of animal, can you guess what kind?
1. They are quite opposite than bears. Instead of winter, they had long summer sleep…
2. Now when it’s cold, we have elections, proposals, Moldova… Definitely, It’s not a bee, because there is no flowers around and they don’t produce honey… Although they are flying from time to time…
3. They see the world differently – they said that we are going East for the first time, but we are actually going North for the first time – at least it’s north from Bucharest where we were last time… And, no – North Macedonia (Ohrid) doesn’t count as a first time, that’s on South.
What animal is working in winter, seeing things bottom up and sleeping in summer?
Joke aside, it’s really good to see that exe com woke up, with much more activities and, personally, I am happy to see that finally Moldova, one of the countries which is somehow lost between regions, is the chosen one. Nice and keep it rolling…
Cheers,
Dusan
p.s. Still solving the riddle? The answer is: a hybrid between Bradypus variegatus and Lasius niger

Dear SEEDIG community,
Despite the delay, we are glad to inform you that the SEEDIG 6 meeting will be held in Chișinău, Moldova, in May 2020.
As usual, SEEDIG 6 will include a two-day event, preceded by our capacity development programmes. The exact dates are to be confirmed with our local partners and will be announced as soon as they are set.
Below is an overview of the main elements that we think make Moldova a suitable option for SEEDIG 6.
* SEEDIG going East for the first time! This could foster linkages with and more engagement from Eastern Partnership countries.
* SEEDIG community members in Moldova are ready to form a core team to coordinate the local preparations for the meeting, including outreach and fundraising activities.
* Moldova has a strong ICT community. The newly formed government places great importance on digital policy issues.
* Local partners include the Association of ICT Companies (thus fostering the involvement of the private sector) and the State University of Moldova (possible host for our capacity development programmes). The government is highly likely to support the initiative. Other partners will be sought for as well.
* The local Internet community is not very much engaged in Internet governance processes, but is willing to change this. A SEEDIG meeting in Moldova will support capacity development efforts in the country. There are plans for a national IGF initiative – something that SEEDIG could support.
We hope to see many of you in Chișinău next May. We are told the Moldovan wine is excellent, among the many things the country has to offer <http://www.moldova.travel/en/> . :)
And we would also like to remind you that the <https://seedig.net/seedig6/#cfi> call for issues to be discussed at SEEDIG 6 is still open. Please make sure you submit your proposals by 8 December!
Best regards,
Sorina
(on behalf of the Executive Committee)
