Dear all,
I am glad that Ucha's nomination has already been submitted to the IGF Secretariat. Without any doubt, he is a great nominee.
As a multistakeholder body, SEEDIG is not entitled to submit nominations for a position on the MAG.
Despite good intentions, it has been unfortunate that the discussion about the particular nomination on the community mailing list was against the SEEDIG principles of openness, inclusiveness, transparency and equal footing (also fairness), by excluding and alienating other potential candidates and depriving them of any chance of getting broader support.
It is important that we all respect SEEDIG principles when sharing our views on the community mailing list.
Kind regards,
Dušan

Now, speaking as the SEEDIG Executive Committee chair, I would like to kindly remind everyone that SEEDIG itself is not in a position to submit a nomination. According to the FAQs published by the IGF Secretariat, 'any interested individuals or organizations are welcome to put forward candidates for the MAG to represent their stakeholder group, or individuals may nominate themselves, using the online form provided on the IGF website. Stakeholder groups should nominate candidates from the stakeholder group that they belong to.'

As Aleksandar has said, more than one nomination can be submitted for the same individual, so if anyone else here from the private sector wants to further endorse Ucha, you can still do this by 30 June. And I am sure the IGF Secretariat will be glad to receive other nominations as well from our region.

So I am taking this opportunity to encourage everyone to use the list for discussions and sharing of information relevant for the community (of course, without spamming :) ).

According to the IGF Secretariat, these countries are Albania, Georgia, Montenegro and Slovenia, the idea came by itself! We have the perfect candidate for nomination, our fellow Ucha Seturi!

>> Subject to his definitive acceptance of this proposal / nomination, I call you to support Ucha as our / SEEDIG candidate for this one seat in the MAG. I'm sure Ucha will represent not only Georgia but also his presence will bring the voice of SEEDIG in the MAG !

>> At the request of the IGF Secretariat, I am kindly remining you about the call for nominations for new members of the IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG). The role of the MAG is to assist the UN Secretary-General in convening annual IGF meetings, by advising on the programme and schedule.
>>
>> The deadline for nominations is 30 June. As you can see in these notes <https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/mag-renewal-2020-general-guidance>, there is one seat to be filled for Eastern Europe, within the private sector stakeholder group. If you belong to this group or know someone who might be interested in joining the MAG, do consider s_ubmiting a nomination.
