[seedig] Ongoing elections and preparations for SEEDIG 6

Dear SEEDIG community, 

Having closely followed the recent exchanges on this list, we believe it
is in SEEDIG's best interests to focus on the work ahead of us and
continue the processes which are already ongoing. As such, we have a few
announcements to make: 

1. PARTIAL ELECTIONS 

The partial elections process [1] is ongoing. As of last Friday, an
Election Committee is in place, composed of Katarina Gevorgyan,
Charalampos Kyritsis and Liljana Pecova Ilieska. In line with the
election calendar [2], they will launch the call for nominations today. 

2. PREPARATIONS FOR SEEDIG 6 

Considering the holiday period and due to requests, the CALL FOR
VOLUNTEERS FOR THE SEEDIG 6 PROGRAMME COMMITTEE [3] IS EXTENDED UNTIL 10
JANUARY. We thank the 14 volunteers who have already expressed interest,
and we look forward to receiving more applications. 

We are also glad to inform you that we had a very good call today with
the local team in Moldova, and the preparations are ongoing. As things
look now, SEEDIG 6 will be held in EARLY MAY; the dates will be
confirmed around mid-January, and new local partners will be announced
then as well.
