Dear Dušans, all,
I agree with you Dušan S. that the ToR as the framework according to which we should work as a community is in focus here and that is exactly what I propose to do: To hear from one of the insiders what he would propose to change in the ToR so that we as a community would be stronger and more capable of conflict resolution in the future.
If we would agree on the needed changes in the ToR, it would be naturally expected that all the members of the Exec Com resign and test their legitimacy in the new round of elections.
We obviously have an alternative approach here, to stick to the current ToR, remove and silence those who point to some problems and carry-on as if nothing has happened. In my opinion this approach would weaken our initiative.
Let us find strength to listen to each other and grow as a community. This is not about „one guy“, it is about the ability of the community to cope with crisis and adapt to changes if needed. It is also about the right to speak openly.
One last thing, a practical one, I would suggest that the remaining members of the Exec Comm continue running the daily work as an interim committee so that the preparations for the SEEDIG#6 are not endangered. They would naturally be in a position to be nominated again in the elections after we have resolved the conflict and answered the question if the current ToR needs to be updated.
If the community would allow, I would like us all to hear from Dušan C. what his proposal is so that we could move one step further.
Thanks and best regards,
Zdravko

Dear all,
Why do we have ToR?
Firstly, I fully agree with Vlada. And he specifically said in last paragraph – we should follow the ToR. And yet, we see different solutions, not according to ToR.
Also, I can agree with major line that Aleksandar explained: perfectly normal thing, after establishing legal entity, is new election cycle, when new Statute replace ToR. But it’s a question of time when we will have legal entity and statute. And I tend to agree with his email and I will try to also highlight – it’s already on the way, as Liljana already explained. So, Aleksandar didn’t said anything new.
But, Zdravko, with your mail I can agree only on one thing> Caf should write something, but not suggestions, rather answers and explanations to a petition according to ToR.
Until then, there is no point in listening more of his “nice” qualifications of everybody on the list.
I don’t see the point why we should not listen to Vale, Bogdan, Vlada, Roberto, Natalia, Yuriy… or as Aleksandar suggested – supporting orgs and their representatives… and many, many others here.
Same as Aleksandar, I don’t see the point why we all should stop doing things for SEEDIG, resign etc? Because of one guy?
Can I stop the seedig list running, until I write emails? Can we turn off the website and say – it doesn’t work until Sorina, Sonia and Lianna make suggestions?
Can we stop working on next meeting until someone make the suggestions for ToR? Shall we stop everything?
Let me be honest, as you Zdravko, stated in your email – of course that you are friend with him, Peter Sterle is also, it’s nice and full support from me, and of course that he needs your support to stop continuation on SEEDIG work just to make him right. Just – isn’t that selfish and a bit against SEEDIG? Your email can easily be read like – “everyone needs to resign. If Caf go down, everything goes down…”, but I don’t want to believe that this is the essence of message.
Above all, what You, Zdravko, suggested is not according to the ToR. And You are one of the writters of ToR, isn’t it?
Your suggestion is some sort of “crisis management” because of one guy get offended – to stop everything and reset.
Is SEEDIG depends on one guy who can say many things, call many people names, but not to answer to the questions on his accountability?
This is not solving the crisis – it’s more creating the crisis because - answers on accountability are avoided.
Again - Why do we have ToR? Let us all avoid the ToR – is this what you want?
My two cents,
Dusan

Dear SEEDIG community,
We are hereby launching a new partial election process for three (3) seats on the SEEDIG Executive Committee (EC). This is a consequence of (1) the previous partial election process for two seats not being concluded; and (2) the resignation of an EC member.
In line with the Terms of Reference for the SEEDIG EC<https://seedig.net/terms-of-reference-tor/>, the initiation of the election process consists in announcing the election calendar and launching a call for volunteers to serve on the Election Committee.
1. Election calendar
As per Art.6.2. of the ToR, please find here the calendar for the overall election process<https://seedig.net/partial-elections/#timeline>. Due to the winter holidays being celebrated on different dates throughout the region, the EC has decided to launch the process now, but allow a longer time for the submission of nominations.
2. Call for volunteers to serve of the Election Committee
As per Art.6 Section B of the ToR, the election process is to be managed by a three-member Election Committee. The main tasks of the Committee are outlined here<https://seedig.net/partial-elections/#committee>.
SEEDIG community members willing to volunteer for the Election Committee are invited to express their interest via this mailing list, by Friday, 27 December, 10.00 am CET. A simple expression of interest is enough, no elaborated motivation letters are required.
Kindly note that the seats on this Committee are to be filled in on a first come first served basis. Those who plan to run for elections are disqualified from volunteering or appointment on the Election Committee. The Committee may also include observers from among SEEDIG supporting organisations (as per Art. 6.8).
With this, the election process is officially open.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Sorina
(on behalf of the Executive Committee<https://seedig.net/executive-committee/>)
