Dear SEEDIG community,

In the light of recent emails on this list, we would like to offer, once
again, the perspective of the Executive Committee on the current
situation and the work ahead.

As said before, we find Mr Caf's claims (made in his blogpost, email to
supporting organisations, and email to the community) biased and
baseless. There is nothing else for us to comment, and any additional
clarifications on those claims should be sought from Mr Caf.

While we respect everyone's opinion and the right to voice it, we stand
for SEEDIG and its principles, which have been guiding the initiative
from the beginning. Openness, inclusion and transparency have been at
the core of SEEDIG activities, and we reject claims that the SEEDIG
community is an 'exclusive club'. The fact that this very community
keeps growing should be a clear sign in this regard.

As mentioned in a previous email, we stand ready to discuss recent
events and the lessons learnt in an online meeting, and since we already
have one planned for January [1], this could be a good opportunity. But
WE BELIEVE THAT SEEDIG WOULD BENEFIT IF WE COULD NOW FOCUS MORE ON THE
FUTURE AND THE WORK AHEAD.

This is why the three-member Executive Committee is working hard to
bring SEEDIG back on track, in line with SEEDIG principles and with the
Terms of reference developed and approved by the community. We have an
election process ongoing, an annual meeting to plan, intersessional
activities to reinvigorate, etc. And we invite you all to contribute to
these activities, kindly reminding you of two open calls for volunteers:

 	* The Programme Committee for SEEDIG 6 [2]
 	* The Election Committee for the partial elections [3]

Thank you!

Regards,

Sorina

(on behalf of the Executive Committee)

P.S. Regarding the SEEDIG website, it was only down for a few hours over
the weekend. The downtime was caused by a clash of plug-ins, and there
was no attack or anything similar involved. The problem was solved
within 30 minutes after we became aware of it.
