Dear all, 

 

Many thanks to WG and I think that they did a good job. Of course, this is version one of ToR, and you can’t expect perfect one. 

There is a lot of things that I have commented, a lot of solutions there personally, I don’t like and this ToR certainly needs to be further developed by the community.

But, having in mind what is needed these days, for now, I think it’s a good base for making further progress in SEEDIG and elect new exe com. 

So, in order to make a further progress, my suggestion is to use this as fast as we can to elect new exe com in order to start next cycle.

And I made this suggestion having in mind that some of my comments are very serious, but – all comments, including mine, can be used later for making this ToR better in the future.

Dear all,

 

We are pleased to inform you that we have just launched a public consultation on a draft Terms of reference (ToR) for the SEEDIG executive committee. 

 

The draft ToR has been elaborated by a dedicated working group (WG Elections), formed as a result of the call for volunteers launched on this list in early August. The document, whose main purpose is to define an election mechanism for the SEEDIG executive committee, also includes provisions on  issues such and roles and responsibilities of the committee, composition, term of office, etc.

 

The draft ToR and an accompanying WG report have been published on the  <http://www.seedig.net/consultations-tor-seedig-executive-committee/> SEEDIG website (and are also attached here). The deadline for public comments is 15 September.

 

We hereby invite you to review these documents and submit your comments by the indicated deadline. Comments can be submitted in two ways:

*	Through e-mail, via this mailing list, or
*	Directly on the Google doc where a copy of the draft ToR has been published <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pSQ-CmWWxnl2JC6BvuGsSX45F4E-uFxjYDFtIdMJIng/edit?usp=sharing> .

We recommend that the WG Report is read before comments are made on the draft ToR.

 

During the public comment period, the WG is willing to hold a public online meeting to discuss any issues pertaining to its work and the proposed ToR. Should you be interested in such a meeting, please let us know. Based on the interest expressed, a decision will be made as to whether and when to hold the meeting.
