[icann-see] Reminder: SEEDIG 2017 Report for review

Dear Sorina and SEEDIG colleagues,

I trust my email finds you
well.

First of all, I would like to congratulate the executive
committee, the host, the organisation team, the speakers, the moderators
and the participants of the SEEDIG 2017 meeting, because, as is clearly
shown from the "SEEDIG 2017 Report", this meeting was a very successful
one.

Responding to Michael's comment below, I would like to clarify
that I was invited in the meeting (and I believe more people from the
internet society of Greece), but it was difficult for me to to
participate due to heavy workload at the time before and after the
meeting, as I had to prepare most of the Minister's dossier for the
Telecom Ministerial meeting of the Council of the EU. I would really
like to participate in the SEEDIG meetings and I hope next time to be
able to do so.

Regarding the "SEEDIG 2017 Report", I have no comment
to make, as this report is beyond my expectations (wrongfully, knowing
Sorina and her colleagues in the executive committee). I believe this
report is really great in all aspects, thorough, useful and easy to
read.

As for the case of Greece, please allow me to inform you that
the Regulation covering the issues of the assignment and the management
of domain names under the Greek IDN TLD .ελ is at its final stage and we
all expect to see it live very soon. However, due to the economic
crisis, the fact is that the Greek Government mainly focuses in the
following areas:

 	* to develop infrastructure and provide a robust,
quality and high-speed digital environment all over Greece (which is a
really difficult task taking into consideration the unique topology of
Greece),
 	* to improve and enhance e-government by providing as many
digital services to the citizens and the companies as possible,
 	* to
support the establishment of a safe and secure digital environment,
 	*
to decrease the digital divide by improving the digital skills of the
citizens and the employees,
 	* to attract investments at the telecom
sector and support start-ups using ICTs as leverage.

Finally, I would
like to join those who believe that the South-East European region has
the potential to play an active and key role in the Internet Governance
and I would like to congratulate the people who manage and support the
relevant initiatives and projects.

Best regards,

Panagiotis

First of all, thank you so much for this. I really like the report (the
design and layout especially, such as how you all added the tweets to
the sessions and interlaced them with the photos and graphics). Good
job!

1. It was good to see participants from every country in the region.
Looking at the map on page 25, it would be nice to see participants from
Greece and Cyprus invited next year as well.

see so many people had positive feedback for it (as demonstrated by the
survey).

an ambassador for each SEE country. I definitely support this idea.

Dear all,

glad to inform you that the SEEDIG 2017 report is now ready.

Before we publish it and submit it to the IGF Secretariat, we would like
to invite you to review it and let us know if you have any comments or
suggestions. We welcome your input by FRIDAY, 25TH AUGUST.
>>>
>>> The
report covers the SEEDIG 2017 cycle, and contains information about both
the annual meeting and intersessional activities. It is quite long, but,
following consultations with the IGF Secretariat, it was determined that
it is useful to provide as many details as possible about the SEEDIG
process, both for transparency reasons, and for other initiatives to be
able to follow any of our practices, should they wish to.

this, we would also like to thank you all, once again, for having
contributed to SEEDIG activities over the past year.
