Dear all,
We are writing to give you some updates regarding the planning process for the SEEDIG 2016 meeting, to be held on 22 April, in Belgrade, Serbia.
As you most probably know, we are currently in the process of building the programme for the the April meeting. Following a call for issues<http://www.seedig.net/call-for-issues/>, two virtual planning meetings<http://www.seedig.net/planning/> and a public comment period<http://www.seedig.net/2016/01/21/the-draft-programme-outline-is-out/> on a draft programme outline, we now have a programme outline available; please see attached. Each session included in the programme outline has an indicative headline; further work is to be carried out by organizing teams, which would take over responsibility for shaping each session: deciding on the title, agreeing on a more detailed focus of the session and elaborating a session description, choosing the format, identifying moderators and key participants, as applicable. Comments submitted during the public comment period will be forwarded to organizing teams, to be considered in their work.
We have announced before that we would reach out to proponents of issues identified as pertaining to each session in the programme outline, and invite them to join the organizing team for that session. It has also been explained (please see the programme guidelines available here: http://www.seedig.net/seedig-2016-programme/ ) that each session would have one or two focal points, whose role would be to lead the work of the organizing team and to maintain communication with the executive committee. We are glad to inform you that we now have initial organizing teams formed for each session; please see their composition below:
Session 1: Internet governance: overview of the ecosystem, challenges in SEE, good practices (including from the region), perspectives
* Veronica Cretu, focal point
* Ana Kakalashvili, focal point
* Cornelia Ciumac
* Lea Kaspar

* Vojislav Rodic, focal point

* Michael Oghia
Session 3: Cybersecurity in SEE: strategies and legal frameworks; technical, legal and human rights-related aspects
* Vladimir Radunovic, focal point
* Tatiana Tropina, focal point
* Matthew Shears
Session 4: Human rights online - putting the puzzle together: human rights spanning across other Internet governance issues; related concerns in SEE
* Bogdan Manolea, focal point
* Valentina Pellizzer, focal point

These initial organizing teams are now ready to start working on shaping the sessions for SEEDIG 2016. Please note that these teams remain open to anyone interested throughout the planning process. If you wish to join any of these teams, please let us know and we will put you in contact with them.
Please note that the progress made by the organizing teams in preparing their sessions will be periodically documented on the SEEDIG website.
The programme outline, the composition of the initial organizing teams and the deadlines for their work will soon be published on our website.
We hope you will find this information useful. If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Sorina
(on behalf of SEEDIG’s executive committee)
