Dear all,
As I have mentioned to those who attended the virtual meeting today, the EuroDIG Secretariat and the SEEDIG organising committee can fund a limited number of stakeholders to attend the SEEDIG and EuroDIG meetings in Sofia, on 3-5 June. This is thanks to a last-minute contribution from the IGF Support Association (3500 USD).
Following consultations with the EuroDIG Secretariat and those attending the call today, it was agreed that the most suitable approach to make use of these funds is to launch a call for expressions of interests, with a very thight deadline (given the short time frame).
The call is published here:
http://eurodigwiki.org/wiki/South_Eastern_European_Dialogue_(SEEDIG)#Call_for_expressions_of_interest_for_financial_support_to_attend_SEEDIG_and_EuroDIG
Expressions of interests will be accepted until 14 May. If the requests for funding (meeting the criteria indicated n the call) exceed the available funds, a selection of funded participants will be made on the basis of the expressions of interest provided, and taking into account the need to achieve a diversity of participants, as explained in more details in the call. The selection will be done by the executive committee, in coordination with the EuroDIG Secretariat.
You are therefore kindly invited to distribute this call within your communities and invite stakeholders who meet the criteria to apply.
While we are aware that the availability of travel funds is a problem for most stakeholders in the region, we would very much want this call to mainly and especially reach those who cannot, under any circumstance, fund themselves or find other funds to attend SEEDIG and EuroDIG. We trust in your understading in this regard and hope you can spread the word accordingly.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Sorina
(on behalf of the executive committee)
